"The Infinity Process, a high technology finish, provides RECacril® with a long lasting protection against mold and mildew, excellent water and oil repellency, and protects you from both sun and water for many years. However, the accumulation of dust, pollution particles, foreign organic materials, and general dirt can damage this protection, shortening the life of the RECacril® so they should be removed. The most effective method for maintaining RECacril® is to clean the canvas once a month with water using allow pressure hose, thereby reducing dirt accumulation. It is very important that after cleaning with water, the canvas be allowed to completely dry before rolling back a retractable awning. When it rains, you can leave the awning open if the frame and pitch allows, since the rain helps wash away dirt. If for any reason you have to roll the wet awning, it must be unrolled as soon as possible to let it dry. In times of continuous rains it is advisable to keep the awnings rolled up. If periodic washing with water is done, in most environments, you should only need to do a more thorough cleaning every 2 or 3 years. Normal cleaning: 1. Brush off dust and dirt with a soft brush. NEVER brush with stiff brushes since this can damage the fabric finish. 2. Spray the awning with clean water. If a hose is used, to avoid high pressure. 3. Prepare a solution of solvent-free soap in warm water (no more than 100ºF) and apply it on the fabric. 4. Scrub with a soft brush allowing the solution penetrate the fabric. 5. Rinse with water to remove all traces of soap. 6. Let air dry and do not wind, close the awning until the canvas is completely dry. RECacril® is highly resistant to the growth of fungus, mold, and mildew, however they can grow on embedded dirt. To clean these stains, follow these more intensive cleaning procedures. Inquire for further instructions on more intrusive cleaning for harsher dirt and stains." |
